AmyJ Designs Always Look On The Bright Side Blanket Yarn Pack

Welcome to the Always Look on the Bright Side Blanket, Original Colourway from Kathryn Middleton of AmyJ Designs!

Kathryn says:  “ALOTBS is a square blanket worked in double knit to a tension of approximately 20 dc (US) to 10cm with a 4mm hook.  You will work from the centre outwards, creating different sized squares and rectangles.  These will be joined and bordered to make your centrepiece. Further squares are added before you join and work a deep border.  This blanket was designed in 2022 when my partner was going through some nasty health issues.  We had a pretty rough 8 months.

Through all this, I had my crochet to keep me sane.  I needed a focus as I spent many an hour alone and I needed something different.  I have no idea why I chose the colours I did.  We look at this blanket now and some days I love it and others I don’t.  These colours are so far out of my comfort zone but they called to me to be used – they are bright, maybe someone was trying to tell me something?  So what else could I call this but Always Look on the Bright Side?”

This yarn pack contains 21 balls of Stylecraft Special DK in the following shades and quantities:

• 2 x Stylecraft Special DK – Fondant (1241) – 100g
• 3 x Stylecraft Special DK – Magenta (1084) – 100g
• 1 x Stylecraft Special DK – Fuchsia Purple (1827) – 100g
• 1 x Stylecraft Special DK – Turquoise (1068) – 100g
• 2 x Stylecraft Special DK – Pistachio (1822) – 100g
• 1 x Stylecraft Special DK – Spearmint (1842) – 100g
• 1 x Stylecraft Special DK – Vintage Peach (1836) – 100g
• 1 x Stylecraft Special DK – Spice (1711) – 100g
• 2 x Stylecraft Special DK – Gold (1709) – 100g
• 1 x Stylecraft Special DK – Mustard (1823) – 100g
• 4 x Stylecraft Special DK – Buttermilk (1835) – 100g
• 2 x Stylecraft Special DK – Lavender (1188) – 100g

You will also need a 4mm crochet hook.  The finished blanket will measure approximately 155cm (61 inches) square and the yarn pack quantities given are for this size.

Please note:  There is no pattern included with this pack but you can purchase it from the AmyJ Designs Ravelry store.

Please also note:  Pack quantities are given for the project when worked to the tension stated in the pattern.  If a different hook is used, or your tension differs from the designer’s, additional yarn may be required.
