What Is Bargello Crochet?

Originally a type of needlepoint embroidery, Bargello uses upright flat stitches in mathematical patterns. It later evolved into patchwork, creating movement with strips of different widths.

In this CAL, Michelle brings that patchwork concept into crochet. By working double crochet (dc) blocks corner to corner, and adjusting column widths, you’ll build dramatic wave effects with a 3D illusion.

Each block features 3 rows of dc, worked back and forth. You’ll keep the height consistent while changing the stitch count to shape the waves.
