Introducing the Vintage Sweethearts Blanket Yarn Pack from Sandra Paul of Cherry Heart!

Sandra says:  “This blanket is a tribute to the crafty ladies in our lives!  It was inspired not only by my love of granny squares, but also by memories of the wonderful crochet and knitted blankets which were wrapped around me as a child.  Visiting my Nannas’ houses was always a favourite thing to do and there was very often a colourful crochet or knitted creation around to wrap up in at night.  For many of us, those clever and creative ladies are also often the ones responsible for guiding us on our first crafting steps and so I wanted to pay a little tribute to them.  This is a modular blanket made up of different size square motifs, which are then joined together and a border added.

This yarn pack contains 18 balls of Stylecraft Special DK in the following shades and quantities:

• 1 x Grape
• 1 x Turquoise
• 1 x Citron
• 1 x Aspen
• 1 x Sage
• 1 x Pistachio
• 2 x Apricot
• 2 x Silver
• 2 x Soft Peach
• 2 x Fondant
• 2 x Denim

You will also need a 4 mm (G) crochet hook and a yarn needle.  The skill level of this pattern is estimated by the designer as “Intermediate”.  It is aimed at confident crocheters and uses basic and some intermediate sttiches, with a basic sewing technique to join.  The finished blanket will be 147 cm x 114 cm (58″ x 45″) and the colour pack quantities given are for this size.

Please note:  Pack quantities are given for the project when worked to the tension stated in the pattern.  If a different hook is used, or your tension differs from the designer’s, additional yarn may be required.
