✨ What Is Interlining?

  • A layer of fabric placed between the outer fabric and the lining of a garment.
  • It’s usually hidden from view, sandwiched inside to improve how the garment wears or behaves.

🎯 Purposes of Interlining

  • Insulation: Keeps the wearer warm—common in coats or jackets.
  • Structure: Adds firmness to soft or drapey materials.
  • Durability: Helps garments maintain their shape over time.
  • Comfort: Can soften rough outer fabrics or make a piece feel more luxurious.

🔍 Difference vs. Lining & Interfacing
